FLUCTUATION IN "IT" FIELD

Till few months ago the IT sector was considered a paradise on earth with wonderful pay packets, luxurious benefits and amazing incentives that employees from other fields naturally started feeling envious of IT people. This resentfulness at times has led to many unforeseen consequences pertaining to “salaries” at their respective places.

But the global economic crisis has become a nightmare to many IT professionals. Newspapers, organisations and other media have indicated that within just a span of a few months more than one crore people in the IT sector have lost their jobs. As per the present scenario, it appears that the downward trend is likely to continue for some more time. This is one side of the coin.

The other side is more frightening. Most of the employees, who have hitherto been enjoying a happy life with lucrative jobs, suddenly find themselves jobless. The questions reeling in their minds are: What to do? How to run the family? How to pay the EMIs to the banks? Who will pay the tuition fees of the children? Happiness is replaced by despair. This was no doubt a bitter experience which was never even dreamt of. But this crisis can be tackled with patience and perseverance. After all, this is not the end of the world. Problems would come and go but one should continue to clear the thorns in the way courageously.

Especially in this critical period, not only the family members but equally friends should come forward with open heart to encourage the affected and so that they don’t feel depressed, and also psychological consultation can be beneficial.
